Menns' Favourite Skincare
Menns is the Shop Owner at Hazelberry Skinfood in Vilnius, Lithuania. She keeps skincare very simple. She uses Lithuanian Hempseed Oil cosmetics, because over the last five years, it has transformed her skin from large, open pores with a rough, pigmented skin texture to a smooth, almost poreless skin.
Face Cleansing Balm: Menns uses a morning Botanical Facial Cleansing Balm as a Face Wash-- made with Hempseed Oil and Castor Oil. The Botanical Facial Cleansing Balms are also made with Hempseed Oil, Castor Oil, Active Botanical ingredients like Rose, Turmeric, Aloe, and Hibiscus, and clays. And added Coconut-derived Cleansing Powder. Just wet the balm and massage it directly into wet skin. Rinse off. Her favourite Cleansing Balm is Turmeric and White Clay for Glowing Skin.
Dry Brush for Smooth/Wrinkle Free Skin Texture: Dry Brushing her face once or twice per week is a must. She uses a wood brush with soft, but firm bristles. Menns stresses that she does not wet the brush and dry brushes in upward strokes from her neck, chin, and cheeks, straight up to her forehead. She even dry brushes her lips!
Nutritious Face Cream: Menns uses Hemp Repair Super Moisture Face Cream with Hemp, Evening Primrose Oil, Aloe, Urea, Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid, and Coenzyme Q10. Menns says this is really the best nutrition one can give to the face on a daily basis. This Face Cream is suitable for all skin types as the oils are lightweight, non-comedogenic/will not clog pores, and the cream is easily absorbed.
Vitamin Oil Serum: Menns also advocates for the use of a Vitamin Serum at night. Why not? You ingest Vitamins for the body, why not topical vitamins for the skin - - when the skin is largest organ of the body? Menns highly recommends the Hemp and Coenzyme Q10 serum. Made with Lithuanian Hemp which is super lightweight and feels like soft silk on the skin. The Ubiquinone/collagen boost serum will stimulate collagen production for firmer skin. It can be used by itself or with a Jade Roller at Night.
Moisturising Balm as Bonding Ritual: Finally, Menns loves to include her daughter in her skincare and selfcare exercises. Teach them while they're young! For her daughter, Hazel, Menns uses the Oatmeal and Honey Balm with Carrot Extract. This is a solid body butter with a smooth, balmy texture that moisturises the skin and helps to address winter dry skin problems such as blisters, scaly skin, itchy skin, and shrivelled up skin. Hazel loves it because it is easily absorbed--no long minutes of rubbing in lotion, although it's just like a lotion. Rub it on back, belly, bottom, hands, feet, cheeks. Can be used directly on dry skin--no need to wet the skin when using this solid lotion balm.
