Most people cook with Himalayan Salt these days, as it boosts their mineral in-take. It's rich in magnesium and potassium. But it is also great for making skin food. Salt in general is good as a detoxant for the body. Himalayan salt also prevents the growth of microbes on the surface of the skin. So in the treatment of acne, Himalayan salt is perefct for people suffering from breakouts, psoriasis, and eczema.
This week at the Hazelberry Skinfood shop, I'll be making Trikampis Spa Bar. The Trikampis is a triangle shaped soap, made with Lithuanian Wild Flax Seed Oil. Once the oils are blended with the sodium hydroxide and water solution to form an emulsion, Kefyr and Himalayan Salt are added. Together, these ingredients make for a lovely bar of soap that softens, soothes, gets rid of toxins and pollutants on the surface of the skin, and helps in treating and preventing acne.
Try making your own Himalayan Salt scrub at home. Combine Hazelberry Skinfood Mango Butter and Ylang Ylang Natural Body Butter with Himalayan Salt and buff away dead skin, while treating acne and break outs in the shower.
