Dry Brushing the Feet and Plantar Fasciitis

Dry Brushing the Feet and Plantar Fasciitis

Dry brushing is a selfcare ritual that can be added to your routine to prevent plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia, the tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes. Common risk factors include overuse, improper footwear, tight calf muscles, and foot structure issues.

Principally, the thing you must absolutely do to prevent poor circulation in your feet, and degeneration of your toes is ensure you exercise, wear supportive foot wear, and be mobile. Here are things you must do to prevent plantar fasciitis:

1.Proper Footwear: Wear shoes that provide good arch support and cushioning.

2.Stretching: Regularly stretch your calves, Achilles tendons, and plantar fascia.

3.Strengthening Exercises: Focus on exercises that strengthen the muscles of the foot and lower leg.

4.Avoid Overuse: Gradually increase activity levels to prevent overstraining.

However,  in periods of low mobility or injury, try dry brushing the feet and legs to encourage blood flow and circulation and massaging with a good body oil with soothing essential oils like lavender can help to encourage blood flow, relaxation, and relieve pain. Dry brushing may provide relaxation and improved circulation to the feet, but it should not be relied upon as a primary preventative measure for plantar fasciitis. If you experience persistent foot pain, it's best to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
